How to extract data for BDDB


Better Data Driven Business (BDDB) Business Intelligence (BI) tool provides practical guidance to businesses on how to use their data to improve business objectives like growing product sales or acquiring new customers. You can use WhyzeHR to export compatible transaction file that can be loaded into BDDB BI tool.

How it is done

  1. Go to Interface BDDB Interface → Run BDDB Interface. Select the date range.
  2. Click ‘Generate’.
  3. Once generated, the BDDB Output Files appear.
  4. Click on the .csv file to download.
  5. Go to download on your internet browser to find the file. 
  6. Save this file into the BDDB Data folder.


If you want to retrieve the file generated previously, you can go to Interface → BDDB Interface → View Output Files


To load this file to BDDB tool, 

  1. On your computer, open BDDB data template (.xlsm file). This can be opened with Microsoft excel. 
  2. Go to Data worksheet. 
  3. Click “Import Multiple Data Files” if you want to import multiple weeks of data files or “Import Single Data File” if you only have 1 data file or want to append new records.
  4. Choose the file from WhyzeHR. Click “Open”.
  5. Click “Validate Data”. You can refer to the Color Indicator for troubleshooting. 
  6. Click “Copy File Path”. This will copy a file path in your company’s clipboard. 
  7. On your computer, open BDDB dashboard (.pbit file). This can be opened with Microsoft Power BI. 
  8. Paste the previous file path when prompted for the location of data template.
